St. Baldricks 2011

A great big THANK YOU!!! to everyone that donated to St. Baldricks on my behalf.
Thanks mom & dad, Cathy D., Kris & Jim P., Emma & Kenneth W., Headys on Westport Rd. and in LaGrange. With your generous gifts, I raised $430 this year towards childhood cancer research.

I had to do things a little bit differently this year. As I had a scheduling conflict which put me under too much a time restraint, I didn't have time to stand in line at the school, get shaved, go home, re-shave myself ('cause they really don't do a very good job), shower, and then get to my other event. So... instead I shaved my own head that morning and then stopped by St. Albert's that evening to drop off the money. Wow, good thing I did, as it was nearly standing-room only in the gymnasium. It looked like there were more people there than ever before.

I had to do my own photography, and self-photos I'm not very good at (not that I take a very good picture anyway).

I thought about going with a punk-look and just shaving the sides of my head. Then I could always dye my hair green and spike it. But I decided against that...

Then I shaved a little more and thought about going with the Chuck Liddell-look...

but to fully get his look, I'd have to tattoo the side of my head, so I decided against that as well.

In the end, I took it all off... my hair that is.

A great big kiss (or fish lips??) to everyone that donated. Thank you!!!!!

Hint #10

How is everyone on this fabulous Tuesday morning??? Life is good (not too shabby at least) where Pitawoman is. There is little more than a month to the big reveal, so far 3 people have guessed what the big mystery is. This weeks musical hint is by C+C Music Factory...

LYRICS:
Everybody dance now (x2)
Give me the music (x2)
Everybody dance now (x2)
Yeah yeah yeah
Everybody dance now
Yeah yeah yeah
Everybody

Here is thedome back with the bass
The jam is live in effect and I don't waste time
Off the mic with a dope rhyme jump to the rhythm
Jump jump to the rhythm jump
And I'm here to combine beats and lyrics
To make you shake your pants take a chance
Come on and dance guys grab a girl don't wait make the twirl
It's your world and I'm just a squirrel
Trying to get a nut to move your butt to the dance floor
So you what's up hands in the air come on say yeah
Everybody over here everybody over there
The crowd is live enough as I pursure this groove
Party people in the house move

Left to right (groove) work me all night
Come on let's sweat (sweat sweat) baby
Let the music take control (control control)
Let the rhythm move you
Sweat (sweat sweat) sweat
Let the music take your soul (soul soul)

Now hit the dance floor it's gonna make you sweat till you bleed
Is that dope enough indeed I paid the price to control the dice
I'm more precise to the point I'm nice
Let the music take control of your heart and soul
Unfold your body is free and behold
Dance till you can't dance till you can't dance no more

Then come back and upside down easy now
Let me see you move left to right groove

Everybody dance now (x3)
Everybody

Let the music take your soul (soul soul)
Let the rhythm move you

Quilting lesson

Arghhh! Sew, rip, sew, repeat.
I've got one panel that is absolutely giving me fits!!
I started to work on the bow-tie section, but couldn't quite figure out which order to sew it in, so I've laid it aside 'til class this week and I'll ask the teacher. In the meantime, that has freed me up to work on fixing my mistakes.
I thought for sure the hardest one to sew would be the Dresden plate. Turns out it has been the easiest thus far. I'm fixing one little section on the Ohio star that was "off" ever so slightly. But the spider web. Ay-yi-yi!! I have taken that thing apart and re-sewn it so many times it's unreal, and still I'm having trouble getting it to line up properly. I finally got the worst mismatched seams to line-up within a couple of millimeters. At this point, I'm telling myself, "it will have to do!!"
I guess when it's all put together at the end, I'll find out how important perfection really is in this craft, or whether nano-mistakes are acceptable.

Just because I could

I get so tired of going to the grocery store, or clothing stores, or home decor/craft stores, etc. and seeing people with "purse-pooches" or dogs in strollers. I'm sorry, I just think there is a time and a place for dogs, and restaurants and stores (aside from pet stores or maybe gardening centers) aren't it. Guide/service dogs are okay, they are working and serve a purpose. But dogs as an accessory?
I was at Garden Ridge a while back as some woman pushed her tiny pooch around in a stroller and it barked it's freaking head off the entire time. And yet none of the employees said a thing to her about it. So as I was checking out, I said to the cashier, "oh, I didn't know we could bring our pets in here." She shrugged and said, "I guess as long as it's not too big, it's not a problem."
With that comment, I bristled. Define "Too Big"? Why discriminate against a dog because of it's size? You wouldn't discriminate against a shopper that was too tall or too fat. I guarantee you my dog would behave a hell of a lot better than that little snarling yapper that snapped at everyone that walked past simply because they were withing eyesight of the little sh*t. Yet they would most likely prevent me from walking into their store because my dog is "too big"? A-holes!!!
Anyway...
Last year, the husband and I attended the O.C. Showcase which is where many of the local businesses set up booths and the towns folk show up and walk around getting free pens, pencils, chip clips, etc. and signing up for free stuff. As we were leaving the place, I noticed a couple of different people walking in with their purse-pooches, and I started to get annoyed. I told John, "by golly, I'm going to come here again next year and bring Olivia and see what they say, and if they stop me at the door, I'm going to pitch one hell of a fit!"
So this past weekend was once again time for the O.C. Showcase. John had to work, but I loaded Olivia in the car and drove out to where it was being held, parked and started walking towards the building. I kept waiting for someone to say something.
The first woman, one of the exhibitors that had gotten there late, stopped to pet Liv and ooh/ahh over her. As we walked towards the building together, we passed up the county judge executive who didn't say anything, but he gave us a strange look and gave us a wide berth. Liv and I got closer and closer to the building, passing by the outdoor vendors and some men that were grilling out, and still nobody stopped us. Again, a few ooh'd/ahh'd and asked to pet her. Finally I took a deep breath and passed over the threshold into the building, down the make-shift hall to the booths, and still nobody stopped us, so we made the rounds of all the booths. I didn't really gather any freebies, as I had my hands full holding on to Liv and feeding her treats from time to time, but it was a good "refresher course" for her, having a lot of people around, and lots of strangers petting her. Now that we're back into event-walking season, she'll be surrounded by people most every weekend. She behaved very well and we even crossed paths with a former co-worker and some other people we've met in the past couple of years at other events. At one point, we again crossed paths with the county judge executive who again threw us a strange look and again gave us a wide berth but didn't say anything (maybe he just doesn't like dogs in general or is afraid of them). I'm half thinking he'll have a "no dogs allowed" sign posted next year.
It could be said that we are setting a bad precedent, and in the future, a bunch of fools will be bringing their dogs to the event, regardless of how their dog behaves, and I could easily see trouble brewing because of it. But honestly, we wouldn't be to blame, it was the people before us with their purse-pooches that started it. Perhaps I'm no better than them, as I took Olivia there, "just because I could".

Hint #9

This is not only a hint, it's also a tribute to tonights premier of yet another season of Dancing With The Stars. Personally, I'd like to see Ralph Macchio (sp?) do well.
Okay, a few hints back, I mentioned that there were three new people in my life and I didn't even know them (yet). I now know their names, even though I still don't personally know any of them. Will I ever meet them face to face? Only time will tell. We were paired together to form a team. We are one of 7 teams locally. As I checked the "leader board" for lack of better word, I see that my team mates aren't pulling their weight, or else they just aren't reporting in each week as they are supposed to. I'm a bit disappointed with my anonynous team mates. :(
However, on a slightly different note... checking a different leader board (no teams involved)... out of the top 1000 individuals all across the USA, both men and women of all ages, I'm #28. Out of just the top 1000 women of all ages, I'm #18, and out of the top 1000 women in my age group across the USA, I'm #6. Woo-Hoo!!

Okay, so now to the song hint #9. Gotta love the falsetto voice of Leo Sayer!

YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING, by Leo Sayer

you've got a cute way of talking
you got the better of me
just snap your fingers and I'm walking
like a dog hanging on your lead
I'm in a spin you know
shaking on string you know
you make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
you make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
you make feel like dancing
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing ahhh
quarter to four in the morning
I ain't feeling tired no no no no no
just hold me tight and leave on the light
cause I don't want to go home
you put a spell on me
I'm right where you want me to be
You make me feel like dancing
I want to dance the night away
you make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
you make feel like dancing
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing
you take me higher
I'm gonna catch on fire 'cause
you make me feel like dancing I wanna dance the night away
you make me feel like dancing I'm gonna dance my life away
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing ahhh
you really slipped me a potion
I can't get off of the floor
all this perpetual motion
you gotta give me some more
you gotta give me some more
and if you'll let me stay we'll dance our lives away
you make me feel like dancing I wanna dance my life away
you make me feel like dancing I wanna dance my life away
you make me feel like dancing I wanna dance my life away
you make me feel like dancing

Quilting 101

I started my quilting class 3 weeks ago and have already learned soooo much, yet I know in the overall scheme of things in the quilting world, what I know wouldn't fill a thimble!
I'm really enjoying the class, and the 90 minutes (2 hours this past week) just seem to fly by. I'm hoping that perhaps there is another class offered for the "next level".
There are 9 students in the class including myself, and with the exception of one loud mouth, if not slightly obnoxious person, I really like everyone else in the class, including the teacher. This past week, loud mouth wasn't there, and when I got home, I told John that it was the most pleasant, peaceful and relaxing evening I've spent in a long time. I suppose it would be hoping too much that perhaps she has dropped out (shame on me!). Everyone gets along, shares ideas and suggestions, isn't afraid to ask questions or opinions, and is so nice. There is a wide range of ages, from one who is either a teenager or a well-preserved 20-something, all the way up to some in their 60's, and at least three different cultures or perhaps races is a better word. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's a very diverse group of women.

Our project for class is to make a 4-panel wall-hanging, consisting of an Ohio Star, a spiders web, a Dresden plate, and bow ties.

We were given a shopping list the first night of what we would need for the class, and week 2 when everyone brought in their fabric selections, it was amazing the variety. No two people chose anything even close to being similar in colors or patterns. I can't wait to see all the finished projects.

So here is what I've accomplished so far...

This is my Dresden plate. When finished, it will be appliqued (sp?) onto a cream colored background and have a dot appliqued in the middle. I haven't had a chance to iron it yet, so it looks a bit poofy.
My scanner bed isn't wide enough to capture the whole panel, so it's cut off on the edges, sorry. And it doesn't do the colors justice either. The wedges that look brownish are actually sage-green.

And this is my Ohio Star.
I've started working on m spider web now, hopefully I can get it done before class on Wednesday. I never looked forward to going to school this much when I was a teenager!!

We laughed and we laughed

I wasn't even looking for this video, but came across it by chance while looking for something else... it's the Pat Barry Q&A session John & I went to before the weigh-ins.

Most people probably won't get his humor, but we honestly laughed and laughed through-out the whole thing.

If nothing else, it's worth watching a few minutes of it just to see how adorable he is. :)

My big UFC adventure

Sorry it took so long to get this post up, but I've been super busy at work the past couple of weeks.
Okay, this is all about my big UFC adventure. It's going to be a very long post, so consider yourself warned. And some pictures may be a bit graphic if you've got a weak stomach. :)

Wednesday was weigh-in day. I took a 1/2 day off from work for the event. The actual weigh-ins didn't start 'til 4:00, but the doors opened at 1:30 and there was to be a Q&A session with fighter Pat Barry (swoon!) starting at 2pm. I for darned sure didn't want to miss one single moment of any kind of action. We arrived at the Kentucky International Convention Center just after 1:30, after having parked two blocks south down 3rd Street. We sat in the 8th row, and I was dead center with the stage and looking directly at the scales.
A little background info in case you don't already know this about me...
I myself have only been an MMA fan for less than 18 months. I don't know every single fighter to have ever fought in the UFC, although I do know quite a bit about quite a few. Mostly from having watched reruns of old fights. For the most part, as I've watched these old fights over and over and over, I developed a sense of who I like and don't like as a fighter, whether it's based on their style, the abilities/capabilities, their attitudes, their personalities, or whatever. Sometimes two guys will fight that I know absolutely nothing about, so trying to "choose sides" is a coin toss, sometimes I try to make an early prediction based on nothing other than their physique or lack of tattoes (remember, these gross me out), other times I just say to myself, "may the best man win" and then might become a fan of one or the other afterwards. Other times, two will fight that I happen to like very much. On those occasions, it's tough to choose which one I'd like to see win, such was the case with GSP vs. Koscheck. I was in no way disappointed when GSP won, but I was very sad that Kos lost.
Last summer when we went to watch one of the payperview events, Pat Barry was on the card. I truly knew nothing about him and very little about his opponent. It was one of those coin toss situations, so I rooted for Pat Barry. He won my mental coin toss and he won the fight, yea!! This past January, he fought again, again I rooted for him, again he won, yea!! Up to this point, I'd never googled him and knew absolutely nothing about him other than he had no visible tattoes and had won his last two fights and liked to throw kicks (his background is in kickboxing).

So the opportunity to listen to him speak for an hour on Wednesday was a chance for me to learn more about this person I knew very little about. OMG! What a neat guy! Not only is he drop-dead gorgeous in person (tv does NOT do him justice), he has got such a fabulous personality and he is too freaking funny. He wasn't telling jokes persay, but he was telling stories and answering questions from the audience and just has a very lighthearted way of answering and regaling us with his personal experiences inside the octagon. We basically laughed our butts off for an hour. And he has got the most amazing smile! That alone would've won me over as a fan. After the hour was up, he then spent the next 45 minutes signing autographs and having his picture taken with the fans.

If you'll notice, he's wearing a different shirt than when he started speaking because some woman in the audience asked for the shirt of his back and he gave it to her. Holy crap, now I know!! And what a delightful 5 minutes it was to stare at his abs while he was waiting for a replacement shirt. **swoon** Obviously I was so mesmerized though, I failed to take a photo of him shirtless. What was I thinking????? Well, okay, I know what I was thinking, but I can't blog about that here. ha!!

Now, I've no doubt that the UFC probably paid him nicely to stay out there for a couple of hours and schmooz the crowd. Part of me was thinking, "is this guy for real? Is he being genuine or just putting on a good show because he's being paid to do so?" He seemed genuine and sincere, but I guess if someone were paying me a few grand, I could pretend to like everyone for a couple of hours also (well, okay, perhaps I couldn't, but a lot of people could).

Yeah, I looked like crap, but he is just too cute!!

So what convinced me this guy is the real deal?
As we were leaving the actual fights on Thursday night, pushing our way out of the arena with the thousands of other people, I spotted Pat once again, walking through the crowd, making his way to the street-side door of the arena like the rest of us, and people were approaching him one after the other asking for pictures and autographs. The man kept stopping, signing and giving everyone that fabulous smile. He truly seemed to be enjoying himself. Now this is a man that could've escaped the arena out the "back door" with the other fighters, surrounded by security so he wouldn't have to deal with the crazed fans, but chose to walk amongst us commoners. Yeah, I think he really was the real deal. Needless to say, I've googled him since getting on the 'puter today and read up on the man. He has earned me as a fan for life. He's my heavy-weight heart throb now, move over Frank Mir.

So back to the weigh-ins...
Besides getting my picture taken with Pat, I spied light-weight fighter Kenny "Ken-Flo" Florian sitting in the crowd. I've been a fan of his from the very beginning. I was amazed that nobody else was approaching him, most were mobbed around some other guy I later found out was Matt Serra. So I sucked it up, stepped outside my comfort zone and approached Kenny. I apologized for bothering him while finishing his lunch (he was stuffing the remains of a salad into a paper bag and taking out an apple to eat), asked him for his autograph and photo and he was very obliging. :)

Sorry I cut off the top of your head Kenny!!
This guy was in the audience and it drove me crazy for the longest time as I knew I'd seen him before, but couldn't figure out where. Finally got it...
He's Ariel Helwani, a reporter/on-air personality for MMA-Fighting radio.
I got pix of most of the guys as they were weighing in, but there were so many, and the majority I knew little if anything about. So I just posted some of my faves...
This is Joe "Joe-Daddy" Stevenson. Yes, he's wearing Star Wars undies.
This is Joe Silva, the "matchmaker". He's the one that decides who will fight who for the UFC.
Ringside commentator, Joe Rogan. He's also a stand-up comedian (although I don't care for his jokes on stage). He was the host of the show Fear Factor, and he was on the comedy News Radio.
I personally could've cared less about their presence, but John and all the guys were ga-ga over the ring-girls. **yawn**
This is Diego Sanchez, season 1 T.U.F. (the Ultimate Fighter reality show) middleweight winner. Always been a big fan of his, although I'm not a fan of his shaved head. He had such nice thick, black hair, I hardly recognized him when he came out.
Diego and his opponent, Martin Kampmann.
They were the last of the weigh-ins and we now headed out of the convention center to go back to our car. We left the room and headed down the hall that we had come in while most everyone else left in another direction. We thought nothing of it, as I said, we were just going out the same way we'd come in. So we're walking along and this door suddenly opens and this guy steps into the hall. I'm like "holy crap! It's Matt Serra!!" Again, I've always been a fan of his. A couple of other people were approaching him and I was struggling to get my camera out of my bag and as I got ready to snap his picture, he suddenly stopped talking to those other people, looked right at me, put his fist ups and got into a fighting pose. I was so startled, I thought perhaps he was upset I was getting ready to take his picture, so I put the camera down. He relaxed and started to talk to those people again, so again I started to take his picture and again, he put up his fists and again I put down the camera and just looked at him, uncertain what to do. He smiled and said, "I'm posing for you."
Oh, duh.
Before I could raise the camera up again, he left those other people and started walking towards me, I shoved the camera at John and told him to take my picture with Matt. Matt was soooo nice, and funny. Mind you, I'm 5'11", he's 5'6", so I was sort of towering over him. As I put my arm around him, he tried standing on tippy-toe to get up closer to my height, I laughed and said, "here, let me come down to your level" and I bent my knees. That position was awkward so we kind of compromised and this is what I got...
Just wish the photo hadn't turned out so blurry. But oh my gosh, what a nice guy. I was already a fan, I'm just a bigger one now. :)
Now some security jerk came along and ran us out of there, like we were doing something wrong? We didn't know we weren't s'posed to be in that hall, so we left out a different door and were completely turned around as to where the car was. We had to walk all the way around the outside of the convention center, and as we approached the corner where we needed to cross to get to our parking lot, all the UFC guys suddenly emerged from the rear door of the convention center and we walked right in the middle of the crowd. OMG!!! Alessio Sakara (sp??) was walking right in front of me, I could've reached out and grabbed his butt. I was once again scrambling to get the camera out of my bag and was going to snap his picture when we got to the next corner and he turned to go their hotel, but he stepped away so fast, I ended up getting the picture of the guy in front of him instead. OMG!!!.....
It was none other than Diego Sanchez. The main fighter on the card. Holy crap!! I could've brushed by Alessio and grabbed Diego when we were walking and didn't even know the opportunity was there.
Before the fights started, this was the view way up on the 2nd level where our seats were located. Unless I could be assurred of getting better seats, I don't think I'd ever shell out the money for a live event again.
Ring announcer Bruce Buffer, and the winner of the fight, Mark Munoz (sp?). Yea!!!
DROOL!!! Oh holy crap how I wish I'd had seats down on the ground level. John spied this guy (light blue shirt, leaning forward) thru the binoculars and this was the best my camera could get. It's none other than George "Rush" St. Pierre!! The welter weight champion of the world. He's from Canada, and that French accent is enough to drive a woman wild!!
And to George's left is Dana White (yes, a man named Dana), he's the President of the UFC.
Oh GSP!!
So this is the picture from the final night of the night between Diego Sanchez & Martin Kampmann. I was soooo hoping Diego would win...

And he did!! But not before getting beat up pretty badly. I think he may have ended up with a broken orbital socket, at the very least, he needed a lot of stitches. Both fighters were taken to U of L Hospital after the fight ended and missed the post-fight news conference. Oh, and one of our favorite referees, Herb Dean. Herb is waaay cool!!

yeah, it's going to take a while for that face to heal.
So that was my big adventure. Loved, love, loved it!!

Hint #8

Still trying to figure it out? Maybe this song will help. 7 weeks 'til the big reveal!!

Lyrics:
Live long enough you're bound to find
Moonshine'll make a man go blind
Never can tell what the brew will do
But there's times you'll wind up feelin so fine

Some women seem to have a knack
They'll turn you on and leave you flat
Never can tell who's playin for keeps
So tell me now what's holding you back
I know your heart can take it

Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
It'll do your heart so good
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
It'll only do you good

Don't fight it'll do your heart so good
Do what mama do
Do what daddy do
When you gonna make up your mind
You can run but love will find you
Ready or not here it comes

Some people when they hear a groove
Shake their heads cause they just can't approve
Well I turn up the music till it's shakin the sky
Is everybody ready to move

There's times you wanna shake yourself
There's nights you wanna yell for help
You can fly when you're standing still
N there's nothing wrong with raising some hell
Tonight we're gonna raise it

Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it

Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it'll do your heart so good
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it

Weekend in review

Livvie and I had our first walking event of the year on Saturday morning. It was pouring down rain, but as long as there was no thunder/lightening and the temps were in the 50's making it tolerable, we were troopers!
This was only the second year for this particular event, but the first year for us. All I can say is: It was disorganize chaos to the max!! I don't know if it's because the charity is still in it's infancy or if it was because the bad weather threw them into a dither, but regardless, it was just a mess. Nobody seemed to know which way to go. Few people chose to actually walk because of the weather, which I can understand, but we started out with another half dozen or so people, got totally confused a block away from the starting point, Liv and I broke away from the pack and started following the poorly marked signs, finally caught up with 3 other people, but as they were running, they left us way behind. For the most part, Olivia and I just walked by ourselves, following the river walk, a mere few feet from the swollen Ohio River which was waaay up out of it's banks. One misstep and we could've been easily swept away and drowned. As there was nobody around us, no one would've ever known. Yeah, I'm thinking they should've either rescheduled or just cancelled it altogether.

Saturday evening while John was at bowling, I was dozing in my recliner while waiting for the Bellator tournament to come on tv and Olivia was curled up sound asleep in her recliner, the other dogs were passed out on their cushions. Suddenly, shortly before 7:30, Olivia jumped up from her chair and started walking very quickly towards the hallway. Her exiting the chair had woke me up and I thought the speed that she was walking towards the front of the house was rather odd. Normally when she gets up from the chair, she takes the time to stretch before doing anything else, and then she either walks at a normal pace or at least has a happy-bounce to her gait, but this just seemed quick and like man on a mission to get somewhere. I was attempting to throw the blanket off of my lap so I could check on her when I heard the gate near the front door go crashing to the ground, I moved faster now suspecting she was going into a seizure and when I heard her loud thump as she hit the ground and started thrashing, I knew positively that's what it was.
If you've never experienced a loved one, human or fur-baby, in the throws of a seizure, then you can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to watch, knowing there really isn't anything you can do for them. All you can do is sit by their side and wait for it to pass. I feel like I'm at even more of a disadvantage than other parents. At least with humans, they can explain to their children once it's all over, what happened and why. With dogs, you can explain all you want, but they've know idea what you're talking about, but can hopefully get some reassurance from your voice. And with me and Olivia, well, I have nothing. She can't hear me trying to soothe her once it's all over. I have to rely on stroking her fur and hope that my touch will calm her and reassure her that everything will be alright.
This is the first seizure she's had in over 18 months (that we're aware of), and it's the first one that I've witnessed from start to finish. All the others have happened in the middle of the night and we've always been awakened by the commotion. Since I was there from start to finish, it seemed to go on forever. In reality, I suppose the thrashing part only went on for a couple of minutes. Once that was over and she stood up and shook it off, I quickly slipped the leash on her and walked her outside. She walked okay going out, did not potty, no surprise since she'd emptied her bladder on the hall floor, but while standing in the driveway, she seemed to suddenly realize who I was and her tail just started to wag as it always does when she's happy to see me. Going back into the house, she was a little bit unsteady on her feet, nearly bumping into my car. Back in the house, she spent the next hour pacing from one corner of the room to the other, stopping by my chair for me to pet her for a moment before continuing down the hall and back and repeating the cycle. She kept trying to get into the corner of the living room where the dvd rack is and old stereo cabinet, and area she normally can't get in to, and she also kept going into the spare bathroom and standing by the tub. Yes, she was in need of a bath, but I wasn't about to give her one at that time. All this odd behavior was just a continuation of the seizure, and it lasted right at a full hour. Then, just as suddenly as she had jumped up from her chair earlier, she suddenly decided things were normal again and climbed back into her chair, gave herself a tongue bath and then went to sleep.
The whole time she was seizing, I kept thinking about the drama and trauma our neighbors had gone through with their dog when she'd started seizing a few months ago. Their normally sweet tempered dog would turn very vicious after coming out of her seizures. So the whole time I was petting Olivia, hoping it was somehow reassuring to her, I kept wondering if this would be the time when she'd snap out of it and go in to "Mr. Hyde" mode. Fortunately, other than being a bit confused at first, Olivia remained sweet tempered throughout the whole ordeal.

The rest of our weekend was a lazy one. It was cold and damp outside and just seemed like a good time to lay about and not do much of anything.

Hint #7

Okay, I'd just like to clear up a few things.
I've had several people make some guesses. Some pretty good, some just really really bad.
A few of the guesses being thrown out are:
I'm leaving John
We're getting a divorce
We're renewing our wedding vows (again)
We're getting another great dane (this seems to be one of the most common guesses)
We're selling our house and moving
I quit my job
I'm getting a sex change
I now have an interest in women (meaning I'm either gay or bi-sexual).

Now, having said that, I'll post todays hint. I started to post this one a couple of weeks ago, but I was afraid people would get the wrong idea, so I didn't. But I figured since your guesses have been sooo wrong thus far and waaaay off base, I guess it doesn't matter if I post this song or not. So here it is: "I'm Coming Out" by Miss Diana Ross
I just love, love, love this song!!

LYRICS:

I'm coming out
I'm coming
I'm coming out
I'm coming out
I'm coming out
I'm coming out

I'm coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
I'm coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show

There's a new me coming out
And I just had to live
And I just wanna give
I'm completely positive
I think this time around
I am gonna do it
Like you never do it
Like you never knew it
Ooh, I'll make it through

The time has come for me
To break out of the shell
I have to shout
That I'm coming out

I'm coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
I'm coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show

I'm coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
I'm coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show

I've got to show the world
All that I wanna be
And all my billities
Ther's so much more to me
Somehow, I have to make them
Just understand
I got it well in hand
And, oh, how I've planned
I'm spreadin' love
There's no need to fear
And I just feel so glad
Everytime I hear:

I'm coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
I'm coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show

SWOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm short on time today, so I'll have to wait 'til next week to give the full blog accounting of how Wednesday (the weigh-ins) and Thursday (the actual fights) went. Just suffice it to say that while I had a good time at the fights, considering where our seats were, I don't think I'd be willing to go again. Now had the seats been better... But for what we saw, we basically ended up watching it on the jumbo-tron screens and for all that, we could've stayed home and watched the fights [or rather, begged our neighbors to let us watch them in their basement. ;) ]
Everybody I've ever talked to says there isn't a bad seat in the KFC-YUM Ctr. arena. Um, yeah there are. I wasn't impressed with the place, and could find a lot to bitch about, but that's just me, it's in my nature. :)
Wednesday was the best time ever! And not just because it was free. I've got lots and lots of pix and stories to share, but as I said, it will have to wait 'til next week.
In the meantime, I'm still basking in the glow of being star-struck (something I don't normally get in to) and getting my picture taken with some of the guys and meeting them. Such "regular" people, some were especially accommodating and have earned my admiration and support as a life-long fan (I was a fan of theirs before, but now, even more so!!).
Matt Serra and Pat Barry, you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hint #6

There are 3 new people in my life, and I don't even know their names... yet.
I couldn't find a song about "the four of us", so I had to settle on Grover Washington's song "Just The Two of Us" (just imagine the "two's" in the song as "4'"). Make sense? Clear as mud?

Lyrics:
Just the Two of Us - Grover Washington, Jr.

I see the crystal raindrops fall
And see the beauty of it all
Is when the sun comes shining through
To make those rainbows in my mind
When I think of you some time
And I want to spend some time with you

CHORUS:
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us
You and I

We look for love, no time for tears
Wasted waters's all that is
And it don't make no flowers grow
Good things might come to those who wait
Not to those who wait to late
We got to go for all we know

CHORUS

I hear the crystal raindrops fall
On the window down the hall
And it becomes the morning dew
Darling, when the morning comes
And I see the morning sun
I want to be the one with you

Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Building big castles way on high
Just the two of us
You and I

Just the two of us
Let's get together, baby
Just the two of us
We can make it
Just the two of us
We can make it
Just the two of us
