Don't believe everything you read...

One of our neighbors recently started a new job, working for an alarm-system company. He drives a take-home van. On the side of the van it reads something to the effect of Bell South Security Systems, blah, blah, blah.
Hmm. You read "Bell South", which is printed in the same font of lettering that the telephone company uses, therefor you tend to think this alarm company is some kind of subsidiary of the phone company, right?
Yeah, I thought so too.
But we would all be wrong.
I was talking to said neighbor last night and he informed me that the company that he actually worked for (can't remember the real name, which, by the way, is printed in smaller letters on the van), pays Bell South phone company for the right to display their name on their vans and other advertisement. But in actuality, have not one thing at all to do with Bell South.
Hmph!, sounds kind of suspicious to me.
I suppose the company does it because Bell South is an instantly recognizable name, like McDonalds or Coca-Cola, and figure it will get them more business.
Makes you wonder what other companies out there are "falsely" advertising their business in such a manner.
